Lost Warden
Lost Warden
Lost Warden is a fast retro arcade shoot 'em up built around relentless enemy waves, local co-op and high-score runs.
Formerly known as The Lost Jedi, this is an ongoing rework of the original Game Off 2017 project. The original arcade pitch remains intact, while the game gradually moves toward its own dark space-opera universe.
Play the current Web build
Take control of a stranded Warden fighter, survive increasingly dangerous formations and collect power-ups to push your run further. Every hit can cost you part of the strength you have built, so positioning and timing matter as much as firepower.
Current features
- Fast score-driven arcade runs
- Solo play and local two-player co-op
- Enemy waves with several formations and attack patterns
- Stackable upgrades for damage, speed, side shots and energy
- Shield and beam abilities
- Keyboard and gamepad support
- Fullscreen Web play with a 4:3 gameplay area and dedicated side HUD
- Local high scores
Controls
A gamepad is recommended, but the game is fully playable with a keyboard.
- Move: Arrow Keys, WASD or ZQSD
- Fire: Space
- Pause: Escape
Your fighter moves more slowly while firing, so choose carefully between mobility and sustained damage.
About this rework
This release marks the first major presentation and technical pass of the new Lost Warden direction. The display layout, menus, loader, pause screen, HUD, high-score screen and Web presentation have been rebuilt. The project also received collision, shield, projectile and gameplay fixes, plus a new 24-color visual palette.
The art migration is still in progress. Some legacy visuals remain in the current playable build and will be replaced as development continues.
What comes next
- More dynamic and replayable encounters
- New original enemy families and locations
- Elite enemies and the Dread Ark boss
- More run variety and upgrade choices
- A complete original pixel-art pass
The project stays arcade-first: enemies, bosses and locations will carry the universe without turning the game into a story-heavy campaign.
History and source code
The project began during Game Off 2017. After the original team ran into difficulties with a Phaser prototype, development continued in Godot. This new version preserves that small game's identity while giving it a cleaner foundation and an original setting.

Feedback is welcome, especially about the browser build, gamepad controls, local co-op and Steam Deck display.
Special thanks to Max, Dicard and Mike from O'clock for their participation in the original game jam project.
